What are you working on?
You can find the updated information here.
Where do you get the inspiration for your characters?
I’m not sure exactly. I normally get the spark of a story idea during my downtime on the weekends, and the story itself provides the fuel to the flame of my inspiration for characters. It’s all random at first and then coalesces with time and energy.
Where did you get your inspiration for the Covenant Universe?
I love paranormal romance and have a thing for vampires; it’s part of being goth. In 1987 (when I was 7), The Lost Boys came out, and since then, I have been forever hooked on the supernatural. One day, I was reading Omegaverse and thought to myself, why don’t I create an Omegaverse with vampires? So that’s what I did.
How many books will the Covenant Omegaverse be?
I currently have a vast, interconnected universe planned out in my mind. Covenant will include thirty-five books, including the novellas. I have three other series planned that are connected to Covenant.
Will there be bonus scenes?
Yes. I plan to write bonus scenes with each new book except for Illicit Possession. All of them will be available to my newsletter subscribers.
Do you have a favorite character?
That’s like trying to choose your favorite child. Although I do have a favorite, I will never tell.
When did you decide to become an author?
I started writing in 2018 but never published my first books. They will never see the light of day.
I spent many years reading everything I could to improve my writing skills and learn the business. Being an author is a lot harder than it looks. I recommend InkersCon to all new aspiring authors.
Will you write any other genres other than paranormal?
Never say never, although I like to stay in my lane and love the mash-up of vampires and the paranormal. There will be other paranormal beings coming in future books and series.
What does your writing process look like?
I start with a brainstorm document on my phone where I collect any and all ideas for the book. Then, I create a Pinterest board for character inspiration, mood, and images for the book. From there, I do elaborate character interviews to get to know the characters more deeply, and then I outline the book. Once the outline is complete, I write in fifteen-minute sprints and try to beat the timer, and then I give myself a short five-minute break. I repeat this process until the draft is complete.
Who are your favorite authors?
I have a hard time reading in the genre that I write, and it’s sad. The only time I can read Omegaverse is when I am in between the books.
I love a ton of authors, but if I had to pick a few, they would be Amo Jones, Rena Kent, and Stephanie Hudson.
Will you ever attend a signing?
The short answer is maybe. If my business and other career allow me the time to do so.
Will you share more about yourself and your life?
I heavily curate my KSV persona for the safety and privacy of myself and my family. Besides the About page, my blog and socials, I need to keep some of my privacy because I have two separate and public careers.
Where do you live?
I live in a small town on the Southern California Coast, just outside the LA area. I’m a California girl through and through. I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and relocated to LA for art school. I stayed in the LA area for the love of my life and have been here ever since.
