The Covenant Omegaverse
The Covenant Omegaverse world is set in the modern day with the same world history as readers.
You will recognize settings, governments, and other things as familiar, or there may be some that I have taken some liberties in changing. If you are familiar with other Omegaverse romances, you will recognize the terms Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Unique to the Covenant Omegaverse, there is also the designation of Dhamphir. Typical humans live alongside other beings who fit within these designations, beings with more animalistic traits; some vampires, some human, and some a combination of both. If you are not familiar with Omegaverse, well, then welcome to an exciting new frontier. I am happy to introduce you to my favorite genre.
The Omegaverse Genre
Omegaverse is an alternate universe where similar to wolves and other animals, there is a dominance hierarchy. Alphas are on the top. They’re bigger, more aggressive, and dominant. They also have a unique physical difference from the other designations, a knot at the base of their penis. Alphas are natural leaders in the world. Omegas are the counterpart to Alphas. They are less aggressive unless provoked; they are smaller and more petite, and they mate with mainly Alphas (but in unique circumstances, other designations as well). Alphas and Omegas have unique scents that are pleasing to a compatible mate, often attracting one to the other. Omegas also have a calming, soothing presence to the aggressive nature of Alphas. Alphas also help Omegas through their heats, again an animalistic trait that is common in Omegaverse. Lastly, Betas are the most common of the designations, subservient to Alphas and most similar to normal humans.
Paranormal Omegaverse Romance
In my paranormal contemporary romance books within the Covenant Omegaverse Series, the world is similar to ours, but the biological drives and designations are different. While there are no vampires in our world, most of the history, governments, and locations are the same.
Alphas bring comfort Omegas and there is a courting process to show that the Alpha is a worthy mate. In the Covenant world, Omegas have choices and can decide who their eternal life mate will be—to give the ultimate consent. Omegas have heat cycles where they are most fertile and get pregnant. They can have sex with humans or other designations but can only procreate with Alphas in the Covenant Omegaverse. (Alphas and Omegas have an insatiable sexual drive.)
Vampires and Vampire Houses
Human genes began to mutate a few hundred years ago, and the vampire gene emerged. Humans with the mutation changed and evolved into vampires. Throughout the years, we have lost the history of who the first vampires were, but their change was the catalyst for the vampire culture and society found in the books of the Covenant Omegaverse Series.
The strongest, most powerful Alphas created large groups of vampires of all designations who aligned with them politically and organized protective communities. These leaders created Vampire Houses that function like fiefdoms with specific rules, customs, and structures. These leaders took on the titles of Lords or Ladies of the House, and the Houses were named after the head of the House. Heads of House have conclaves of select Alphas that help lead and run the House as it grows in size and power. Each Vampire House is unique.
Omegas are rare and coveted in the Covenant Omegaverse and are protected at all costs. When Omegas are discovered and uncloaked, they are brought to the Vampire House of the Alpha that uncloaked them. They are asked to pledge their loyalty to the House for protection, care, and the opportunity to gain an Alpha mate within the House. Omegas live in luxury within the confines of their House’s Omega Sanctuary until they are claimed by an Alpha.
I hope this helps give you an introduction into the Covenant Omegaverse or the Omegaverse genre in general. I hope you find something you enjoy between the pages of my books, and you find so much enjoyment that you will stay in my world for quite some time.
